For the last two nights, we have let Tyler cry it out. Supposedly each night he should cry for a shorter amount of time before he goes to sleep. For two nights and the last two days at nap time, he has cried for over an hour before sleeping. He has yet to cry himself to sleep for a nap before I give. At night, Mark has me turn down the monitor so that I can't hear him, but I can tell by the number of red lights going off that he is screaming.
I hate this! I go in there to check on him and he is so upset: shaking and sweating. You aren't supposed to pick them up using this method so he reaches through the crib bars and clings to me, trembling.
While I do believe he needs to learn to soothe himself to sleep and while I really need the sleep, I can't imagine this is good for him. Is he just learing that no matter how long and how hard he cries, I won't respond? Please, give me some feed back!

I wish I had some feedback for you but someone once told me the best place to sleep is the place that everyone sleeps best...sooooo....we coslept lol it really helped with the nursing because I could feed them before they really woke up so we all slept great. I can tell you that everyone will tell you that once you start that they will never leave and ALL three of mine moved out on their own...my last before *I* was ready! They are all very secure and not clingy too:-) The Baby Book by Dr Sears is the one I read when I was trying to do the cry it out method and was thankful to find something that helped us all...especially ME with the Mommy guilt:-)
